Akin is a very professional and knowledgeable osteopath. At the start of my treatment I was in severe and acute pain which resulted in restricted mobility and low quality of life. Akin listened and helped me to find not only the best treatment for me but also gave me exercises I can do to manage my chronic condition. I do return to him regularly for maintenance and I would never change him. I have a long and painful history of back related injury and chronic back/discs pain and he’s been by far the best practitioner I have ever worked with and I have seen hundreds of people. I would recommend him over and over again. The clinic itself is very nice, clean and staff is very kind and ready to help.

I had such a negative perception about physio due to poor experiences before however I’m totally converted. Louise is amazing, she has completely turned me around. Been struggling for months with ankle and knee issues. She started therapy immediately and I started to see the difference within days. It’s been a month now and I am positive the road to recovery it closer. She used ultrasound therapy, tecar and laser therapy. Combination of these have helped relieve pain, swelling and encouragement of recovery. Now just need to get the strength back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Focused shockwave therapy delivers gentle, high-energy sound waves to the penile tissue to stimulate new blood-vessel growth and restore natural blood flow. Rather than masking symptoms like tablets, it treats the underlying cause of many types of ED — poor circulation. It’s completely non-invasive, drug-free and supported by European Urology Association guidelines. What is focused shockwave therapy and how does it help erectile dysfunction?

It is suitable for men with mild to moderate ED, especially due to ageing, diabetes, high blood pressure, or post-surgery.

Medications such as Viagra and Cialis (Taladafil) work by temporarily increasing blood flow, but only while the drug is active in your system. Focused shockwave therapy is different — it stimulates the natural repair of blood vessels and encourages new vessel growth within the erectile tissue. In other words, tablets provide short-term support, whereas shockwave therapy helps restore your body’s own circulation for longer-lasting, drug-free results.

(Focused) Shockwave for EDIt is suitable for men with mild to moderate ED, especially due to ageing, diabetes, high blood pressure, or post-surgery. As part of your consultation we will go through your past and present medical and lifestyle history, if we do not think you are likely to be a successful candidate for Focused Shockwave for ED who will explain so.

Most men describe the sensation as a light tapping or tingling feeling. There’s no need for anaesthetic and you can return to normal activity immediately afterward. Because the waves are “focused,” the treatment energy targets only the intended tissue, so there’s no skin damage or downtime.

A typical appointment lasts about 30 minutes, with the machine needling to be applied for around 15 to 20 minutes during that time. Most men complete a course of six sessions, with some requiring up to twelve sessions for optimum results. The treatment is performed once or twice per week. Some notice results within three or four sessions; others improve more gradually as blood flow and tissue health increase over time.

Yes. Focused shockwave therapy has been used worldwide for over 10 years with excellent safety data and minimal side effects. It’s cleared for use in men’s-health indications in Europe and at Vital Wave delivered under by qualified health care practitioners at Vital Wave in communication with an experienced Urologists with over 30 years experience.

That’s exactly when focused shockwave can help. Instead of artificially increasing blood flow for a few hours, it encourages your body to rebuild its own vascular supply. Many men who saw limited benefit from medications experience sustained improvements after a short course of treatment.

Absolutely. All men’s-health consultations are held in private rooms, and your visit reason is kept completely confidential. Discretion and professionalism are core to our service.

Improvement often begins within a few weeks of starting treatment and can continue for several months as circulation builds. Results typically last a year or longer, with some men choosing occasional maintenance sessions to sustain benefit.

The specific type of sound waves used in shockwave therapy modulate chronic pain pathways in the nervous system and trigger a healing cascade — stimulating blood flow, new blood vessel formation, collagen production, stem cells and the the remodelling painful, fibrous scar tissue (including calcific deposits). These biological response helps the body repair itself naturally, often reducing pain after just a few sessions.

Shockwave is highly effective for chronic tendon and soft-tissue injuries such as Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, calcific shoulder pain, and hip or knee tendinopathy. It’s also useful for delayed-healing injuries where circulation or scar tissue is limiting recovery, including bone non unions.

Most patients require three to eight sessions depending on how long the problem has been present and the tissue involved. Treatments are usually scheduled weekly (sometime twice weekly) or up to a fortnight apart and take around 20-30 minutes at each session, and make be combined with other modalities such as LASER and or medical acupuncture for enhanced results.

Yes. Shockwave therapy has been clinically tested for over two decades. The treatment head stays on the skin surface, and no anaesthetic or medication is needed. Mild redness or tenderness for 24 hours is normal and short-lived.

Light activity is fine straight away, but we usually recommend avoiding high-impact or heavy training for 24 hours to allow healing processes to begin. You’ll receive individual guidance after each session.

Focused shockwave therapy delivers gentle, targeted sound waves to the fibrous plaques that cause penile curvature and pain. This stimulates blood flow, softens scar tissue, and helps reduce inflammation. By improving tissue elasticity and circulation, it can ease discomfort and promote more natural alignment over time — without surgery or medication.

Focused shockwave therapy can be beneficial at most stages of Peyronie’s Disease. While earlier guidelines suggested waiting until the condition had stabilised, recent evidence indicates that starting during the painful, active phase may help reduce pain, slow progression of scarring, and limit curvature development.

Our goal is meaningful improvement, not perfection. Clinical experience shows curvature reduction between 25 – 60 percent depending on severity and tissue response. Pain usually subsides early in the course, with appearance improvements following gradually.

Yes. In some cases we combine focused shockwave with traction therapy, PRP injections, or medication to enhance results. Your clinician will advise the best combination based on your stage and goals.

Treatment is comfortable; you may feel a tapping sensation but no sharp pain. Because it’s non-invasive, there’s no risk of scarring or erectile damage. Mild tenderness for a day or two is the most common after-effect.

A standard course involves six sessions over six weeks. Many men notice pain reduction after just two or three visits, with visible curvature improvement developing over the following weeks and months.

Completely. Appointments are one-to-one in a private treatment room. We understand Peyronie’s Disease is a sensitive topic and ensure the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Both treatments use acoustic energy, but the way that energy is generated and delivered is very different. Radial systems fire a metal “bullet” down a barrel using compressed air — producing surface impact and a broadly dispersed pressure wave. Focused systems (like ours) use piezoelectric energy to generate a precise, convergent wave that travels silently through the skin and concentrates deep in the target tissue. This allows significantly higher true energy delivery where it’s needed most, without bruising or surface trauma.

Because the energy source is electromagnetic or piezoelectric rather than mechanical, there’s no impact on the skin surface.

The energy converges inside the tissue rather than exploding on it.

This means patients experience only a gentle tapping or warmth — even at energy levels that would be intolerable with a radial device. It’s a perfect example of “more power, less pain”: deeper therapeutic effect, minimal discomfort, and virtually no bruising.

When the energy is delivered precisely, yes.

Independent research led by Professor Christoph Schmitz (University of Munich) has demonstrated that higher, stable energy flux densities (mJ/mm²) produce greater biological effects — including new vessel formation, collagen remodelling and pain reduction — in both musculoskeletal and men’s-health treatments.

The challenge is delivering that energy consistently and comfortably, which is exactly what our system achieves.

At Vital Wave, we’ve been using shockwave technology for over 15 years and have tested most of the major manufacturers first-hand in our clinics. Through that experience, the Swiss-engineered EMS DolorClast Focused system consistently outperformed every other platform. It delivers the highest true energy density (up to 0.55 mJ/mm²) without power drop-off at higher frequencies — producing deeper biological stimulation, faster progress and superior long-term outcomes. Because we want the very best results for our patients, EMS is the only focused shockwave system we choose to use.

Around 90 % of published clinical research in the musculoskeletal field has been performed using EMS Swiss DolorClast devices. They are widely regarded as the “Rolls-Royce” of shockwave systems, setting the benchmark for precision, reliability and reproducibility. When you see impressive results quoted in medical literature, chances are those outcomes were achieved using the same technology we use at Vital Wave — giving you confidence that your treatment is based on the gold standard in the field.

When comparing devices, it’s important to understand what the numbers really mean.

EMS specifies its output using only the positive energy flux density (for example 0.55 mJ/mm²) — the part of the wave that delivers the therapeutic compression phase. Some manufacturers combine the positive and negative phases to produce a higher-looking figure, which can be misleading when comparing machines. In reality, what matters is the true energy delivered at the target tissue, and EMS provides the most accurate and transparent measurement available

Research has shown that both the positive (compressive) and negative (tensile) phases of a shockwave have independent therapeutic effects — stimulating different biological processes in the same tissue.

EMS devices are engineered so that these two phases occur at exactly the same focal point, ensuring maximum interaction within the desired treatment zone. Other systems may generate the two phases at different depths, meaning part of the energy is wasted outside the target area. This precise focal overlap is another reason we only feel comfortable using EMS equipment.

You benefit from the most advanced, well-researched and accurately calibrated focused-shockwave system available anywhere.

Treatments are powerful yet comfortable, thanks to the piezoelectric energy source that delivers deep therapeutic waves without skin bruising or surface trauma. The result is consistently higher success rates, faster recovery, and lasting improvements — exactly what you should expect from a clinic that insists on using the best.
